Hi,
I'm late to this party but have gone through similar issues. I bought the swivels from Kiravan, and had to call mid installation to enquire about the passenger seat. They sent me a video which shows the disconnection and stowage of the cables and connectors under the seat. I followed these instructions and then had the faulty airbag come up ever since.
This is mid original installation of the swivel plate. U used trauma sheers to cut the carpet and insulation of the cabin carpet to get to the wiring, roughly doubling the 'dood' in the carpet, towards the handbrake. There is a channel which once everything is arranged carefully, fits in the cables and large fuse box (the large black box in the foreground).
I drove around on holiday with the seats in place and finally got a set of connectors in the post and installed the cables yesterday.
The Kiravan double swivel had a gap at the sides, so the extension comes out very easily. There are two sets of plugs, to extend the yellow connector. I originally thought it was a double, not a triple, hence two connectors. I have glued then together now. This is the side of the passenger seat next to the handbrake. The black gaffer take is to tidy up the loose cable.
I plan to visit my service garage, or a friend who has a VCDS to turn the fault warning off, and then only swivel the seat with the ignition off. It is a chame the RIB seat swivel has a simple bolt in the middle and not a circular hole like the single seats, but I guess the price is already high. The old mains cable fits well.
I had to carefully remove the cloth wrap from the loom to allow enough wiring to poke the yellow connector out of the front carpet and out where the rear carpet abuts to the front cabin carpet.
To connect I first:
Twisted then soldered the bare copper wires.
Next I Crimped the brass connectors to the wires.
Then I heated the connector again with the soldering iron to ensure the connector was bonded to the wires.
Finally popping the connectors into the PVC into place, after double checking the wiring connectivity.
The van has white, brown and green and had I had access to Maplin or the lab at work I'd have used the same colours. I used an old mains extension cable, and had brown - brown, white to yellow and green to blue, but it doesn't matter which connect to which so long as both connect the same end wires.
