Seeking armrest solution for a front bench seat

Some of the veedub transporter covers have a lift up section where the drop down armrest is, I saw them this morning on the Alcantra set they do @Paulh87

TBH, I can't imagine that butchering the cover would end well.

Probably not with that cover, but maybe a plain cover like the OEM cover could be altered to suit.
