Unfortunately if you applied that logic to the rest of your spending, you wouldn't :-Having met Mr Ashley in the course of work, his senior manager warned me to be careful around him as he sheds his skin up to 12 times a year. As he now owns Go Outdoors he isn’t fit to get any of my cash. This is my personal experience and you should really make your own choices.
We’re doomed!!!Unfortunately if you applied that logic to the rest of your spending, you wouldn't :-
Have a bank account
Buy diesel
Drive a VW
Fly
Use water/gas/electricity
Have a pension
Gamble
Drink
Smoke
etc etc......
I wasn't having a dig, just pointing out that they're all as bad.I reserve the right to use my logic as I see fit.. cheers
I vote with my wallet, if I meet someone and don’t like or trust them they will not benefit financially from me if I can go elsewhere. Yes I have reached that awkward age and am loving every minute of it .I wasn't having a dig, just pointing out that they're all as bad.

He has quite an empire but his ego and nastiest is even greater.I was unaware that Go Outdoors was now controlled by Ashley. That's another retailer added to my "never getting a penny from me" list then.

@interbear. Attwools are only about 5 minutes from me inc. parking and going in. Such close proximity is very convenient but can get expensive. And depending where you are located OP, I'm on a similar newbie camper journey as you and recently discovered that the UK's biggest independent camping store - Attwools
@T6ChrisO and welcome to the forum you will soon love your van as much as we all love ours ...Collected my T6 Camper today and its my first camper I've owned so I literally have nothing to furnish it.
Would Go Outdoors be a good option to take a visit to and pick up a few bits? Im talking things like plates, cups, kettle, folding chairs etc etc. I honestly do need everything!!
Any other options for physical shops I could visit?
Chris

Camping du Letty via Decathlon in Quimper?!!+1 for Decathlon
All being well we shall be holidaying in Brittany this summer. It's a site we last visited 3 years ago and there is a Decathlon nearby. I've looked at UK and French websites side by side, and it seems a lot of the items are 1/2 to 2/3 price in France. I'm thinking of doing a click and collect in advance and collecting en route.
OMG, that's exactly the campsite @JOG - Brittany's not small, how could you hazardous a guess at that!?Camping du Letty via Decathlon in Quimper?!!
Are you looking over your shoulder now?!!OMG, that's exactly the campsite @JOG - Brittany's not small, how could you hazardous a guess at that!?
JD sports, Millets and Blacks are all part of the group.I was unaware that Go Outdoors was now controlled by Ashley. That's another retailer added to my "never getting a penny from me" list then.
Decathlon definitely a good - better - alternative.
And depending where you are located OP, I'm on a similar newbie camper journey as you and recently discovered that the UK's biggest independent camping store - Attwools - is a mere 30 minutes away from us just off the M5 in Gloucestershire. We went recently to pick up a few items including a driveway awning - it's an excellent store, has everything you could possibly need and good advice too.
.....Evans Cycles too......JD sports, Millets and Blacks are all part of the group.
