Side step water collection

I always find with waterproofing it's always best to assume water will get in and give it a way out - almost perfect waterproofing is a pain as when the water gets in it's just held exactly where you don't want it...

Just following up on this. I had the van in yesterday for a service at my local dealership so took the opportunity to ask about the water collection and explained how it was coming in. I'm sure it's no surprise to find out that they didn't have a clue and that it was the first they'd heard of it. No solutions offered, it just seems to be a design flaw. I haven't found any way of properly stopping it getting in or allowing it to fully get out. Even with a gap created in the rubber door seal there's still plenty enough water collecting in the corner of the roller track to do damage if it sits there for a long time.

I've just started parking the van the other way round now, with nose uphill - result is no water collecting in there. Parking that way round isn't ideal and more inconvenient, but better than the van sitting with water pooled in the metal bodywork and with the roller mechanism under water. So top tip of the day, don't leave the van parked nose downhill for extended periods of time - it's not designed for that :-(
