Side-window curtain recommendations

I've just bought a full set of black out Kiravans, not ready to fit yet but look great quality. About £200 for all windows

So I fitted the first set of my Kiravans last night and I’m a little disappointed to say the least. The actual curtains and rails I can’t fault, all be it I had to play with the rails to get them to fit even though they are pre moulded and marked for the exact window. I think because I have twin electric sliding doors the handle is different so had so fiddle with the rails but it’s sorted. My issue is the screws they are very delicate and I’ve rounded off a few doing them up so I've had to buy new screws from screw fix, they are completely different to the ones they use in the video, so I emailed them and they told me they can’t source those screws anymore and now provide these. My issue is I now can’t get the knackered ones out (any tips on how to get them out).

Can you get an easyout with a drill on them?
If not a gentle tap of a decent screwdriver into the chewed up head might work.

We have the Kiravans curtains - side windows and barn doors. Very happy with them.
Let me know if you want photos.

Pete
I'd like some photos please, interested in how they sit against the barn door windows.

I've just received my Van-X curtains for two side windows and barn doors.
The material is good and it includes all the fixings. However, the rails you will need to cut to size and then somehow bend/ form them to the shape of each window.
Also, the rails are attached via a separate part of the rail, (not within the sliding section of the rail as per Kiravans) and therefore not such a neat installation. The pricing is irrelevant as it's the same.
I was recommended to go for Van-X but after watching the Kiravans installation feel like I've chosen poorly

Interesting. My last van I used Kiravans curtains. This time round I used Van-X. I feel the quality and fit of the Van-X ones are better. The only downside was having to cut and form the rails yourself. I made up a little jig to bend them to shape etc. It definitely took longer to fit them but I managed a nicer fit in the end.

Looks like the new Van-X curtain kit comes with a jig to help bend the rails these days. I didn't know what it was for initially;-)

That’s what it’s for! I wondered what the plastics piece was.... van-x quality looks good, not fitted yet.

I had the same decision to make ,I went for Van x .
Only because of the black rails . (My vans black )
Can’t vouch for kiravans ones . But happy with mine . No problem fitting you do have to bend the ends of rail . But it’s easy. And fast delivery last week .View attachment 67393View attachment 67392
Hi, Do you have the tailgate curtains as well?

If so can you post a picture up to show where you placed the poppers on the tailgate please?

Hi all, might be a little late for this thread but I have recently bought and fitted the Kiravan curtains to out tailgated T6 and would like to share the following observations....

1. Screws are small and will round off, had to search for a particular small cross head screw driver to ensure a good fit.
2. Recommend using a 2mm drill, not 2.5mm as advised. This gives the screw something to bite into and make a firm fix.
3. We choose the grey curtains - nice stretchy material but no light blocker.
4. All rails are accurately shaped - except the "pre-formed" bottom rail for the rear door over the rear windscreen motor housing, which only gave a hint of where the bends should be. Don't have a picture of the before - but see finished article. It needed a lot of gentle bending to get this shape.
5. A small tip - once you have formed the rail over the rear motor housing you may find the plastic curtain runners jam on the parts that have been bent. See the second picture showing the adjusted runner on the right, it has been shortened with a Stanley knife to stop it jamming.

Has anyone fitted the vanstyle curtains?

I just want to offer some shade in the back for the little ones on longer journeys, not planning on using the for camping.
