SIM information for the EU

Hi
I’m with Three for phone & Broadband in the UK.

I will be travelling in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, & Norway from the first of June. Bout a month.
I will have a ZTE MU5120 mobile router.
As Three has a 12gb month data limit when Roaming, the guy at Three suggested that when I get off the ferry in the Netherlands, go to a phone shop, purchase a sim that covers those countries, which means no roaming charges, & I choose a data plan to suit.
Could do with any experienced travellers views on this , or information about phone shops in the hook of Holland area.
Regards

How long have you been a Three mobile customer? I've been a customer for about 4 years and my unlimited plan has a fair use policy abroad that I've never come close to using up.

We both use ID mobile which uses the 3 network. You can get 30gb of data for £8 per month on a monthly no contract basis.
I think there is a 25gb limit on the free roaming. Worked fine for us in all those countries you've listed when we did a trip to Norway.

My broadband is 5g unlimited £20 month. but I need to leave the sim at home(Ring spotlight security cam).
My phone is 30gb data £10month (hardly use it, Cus retired, so mainly using Wi-Fi router )

That looks interesting. thanks for the info

Sorry to come to this late. I recently went over to Lebara (Vodafone network) for our mobile contracts and have found them to be very good in terms of 5G data connection as well as what I reckon is good VFM (I couldn't get BT/EE 5G at home with my previous contract). Lebara gives us each a 35GB monthly allowance, 25 of which can be used in Europe without extra cost. Experience tells me that we probably use about thrice that on the average 4-6 week trip as we tend to us Google Maps or Waze for navigation over android auto as well as the usual browsing and downloading a newspaper every day so I have also put a second Lebara sim card in my phone that can be topped up if needed. That one is Lebara PAYG and a £10 top up gives 25GB over a month (5G where available) and calls/SMS all of which can be used in the EU.

Until now, I have always used a 4G mobile router in the van on road trips with whatever sim card gave the best deal at the time but I will probably forget about the router now as I can hotspot 5G from either of our phones when needed.

Many thanks for a very detailed reply.
With the replies I have had so far, it was certainly worth me asking for information.

Heartily recommend checking out sim sherpa...its my go to place any time im considering a provider change for me or family. it shows all the providers/resellers..you can tick EU roaming option also which will be useful in your case.

I personally use Smarty as my Three reseller..all the same perks, just cheaper than Three directly, much like ID mobile, just a case of whatever deals can be had at the time.
