Skinz Waterguard install advice

Hey all,

part way through a speaker install in the T6 and needing a little advice on the Skinz Waterguard.

What is the best way to install them? There are no instructions and nothing in the internet that i could see. The cone comes folded in the box, meaning it can be extended or shortened. So, the way i see it there are three options:

1. leave it folded to allow clearance for the window to go up and down
2. unfold it and let it touch the outer door skin. When the window goes up and down it will foul it, but as it's silicon shouldn't effect operation
3. cut it to size

i am thinking that #1 makes the most sense.

Opinions would be appreciated.

First pic is folded second pic is unfolded. There is a middle fold as well but hopefully you get the idea.

And this with the speaker in situ. I think the length of the cone will foul the window but don’t know if I need to worry about that as like I say it’s silicon and will simply be pushed out the way.

I've never had a problem with them touching the outer door skin. What mounts are you using

I should probably add, thanks for responding. That’s the information I was looking for. The water guards were bought from you guys so it’s nice to close the circle, if you know what I mean.
