I know this has been a regular discussion over the years. but I have never owned one, never used one and only seen them from a distance or online so value the experience of others. Basically my requirements are I like the low profile, can hardly tell it's a pop top when down, look. I like the USP of the Horizon ex Hilo height, because I like the idea of being able to sit up there with a bit of headroom, it seams that where you get it fitted is most important, not even sure which criteria are most significant??

I went for the Horizon, for a few reasons. I was looking for a low profile roof that wasn’t too noticeable and also as I’m quite tall it was the only one I can really sit up and enjoy the view with the canvas folded up. I also preferred it inside to the oval hatch of the B2. YMMV.

I do like the idea of no hinges but look at how much extra room they give.
When I can sit on the bed board in the horizon without my head touching the roof.
Apart from the fact someone nicked the rest of my van.

Yeah that was the comprise for us. Although I doubt I'll ever actually go up in out poptop, I don't trust it to hold my weight! Haha Ours is just for our 8yr old to sleep in, so plenty of space up there for her! Loving the red canvas though! I thought about a green one, but bottled it in the end and went safe! Haha

I'm no giant, but it looks like the horizon has height quite a way back. Where did you get yours fitted?

I went for the Stealth roof. Like Skyliner above, I wanted a discreet roof with maximum internal head height. A plus for the Stealth is that as it has no hinges, you'll never run the risk of cutting the canvas with them!

I only came across these recently, which is annoying because they are a third contender to the decision and I really like the simplicity of the mechanism. They don't give as much space as the horizon or the skyline, but damn they look good!

There's plenty of height at the back - enough that an adult can sleep with their head towards the back of the van without feeling claustrophobic.

I’ve been trying to see a Stealth in the flesh, I’ve contacted a company in Chichester a few times now but they only got back to my original enquiry. I went to Skyline and had a look at the Skylow last week and really like it. So I’m deciding between the Skylow and the Stealth (if I ever get to see one). This might seem daft to some but the one thing making me lean towards the Skylow is that I want an over bed locker for storage and I don’t think the Stealth can facilitate one although I think the Stealth looks nicer from outside.

I'm pretty sure you'd be able to have a locker over the bed. I'm assuming you mean at the rear infant of the rear doors? I'll grab a picture for you to show you the space!

Where abouts in the country are you?

That would be great, thank you very much. I'm in the South East (Guildford way). I was looking at the Evo Motion lockers, they have details about all the different variants and based on the Hilo I thought the Stealth would be the same - they say there is no room for storage:
