Snapped spring on KW1

Got the bill today to replace the second failed spring.
It seems that KW are only willing to replace the snapped spring (and not the rear pair) following the failure.
I told @BognorMotors to replace both rear springs following the failure, even if I had to pay the extra. I can't grumble to Bognor Motors, as they didn't supply the coil overs in the first instance and have gone out of their way to help me, but I wondered if should I look to complain to KW with a view to getting back the cost of the second spring?
Has anyone had any joy with KW customer services following encountering problems?

Motor Dealers will only replace the broken part under warranty not a pair in the case of shocks or springs .
The rational in changing shocks in pairs is simple, they wear out and the oil in a shock that has done 50 k miles will never work the same as a new one , therefore safer to replace both . with springs its different , they dont wear out ,
I dont think they will come to the party for a second spring unfortunately .
We take care of our own warranties here at CRS because the manufacturers are all long winded and lots of red tape and i wont let my customers wait . Its one of the perks of buying from a specialist not a discount house .

Arghhh!!!!!......I am reaching the conclusion that KW V1's are a big problem for me and don't know why!

There seems to be plenty of people who have gad no issues with KW V1 but my experience has been terrible!

There was a bang today and on inspection, BOTH front springs have snapped.

I have now had failed KW V1 springs on all 4 corners within 30k miles!

Something is wrong here and I feel frustrated as hell!

Vehicle is now off road for best part of week whilst I wait for new springs which will no doubt give me more problems in the not too distant future!

Here at CRS the KW kit is our entry level coil over kit , Our H&R offering is the top of the range and between these two types of kit we feel we have the market covered .

We have had no issues with H&R springs breaking ( they are our own design however ) and very few KW springs breaking ( maybe 2 or 3 )

This is very unusual and as a retailer of the KW kits we have sold hundreds of them and consider ourselves pretty knowledgeable on them.

Can i ask what weight your van is , IE Camper Cali < combi 4 wd maybe heavy stuff in the back ?? also how low do you have it adjusted to ??

Also if you have a rear spring break in future please let us know and ill send you our rear spring from the definition kit , hundreds sold into heavy vans not one breakage .
We are all aware breaking springs is a thing , but all 4 in one van does seem odd ??

It does seem odd doesn't it.
Van is a 2021 SWB T6.1 T32 . It does carry engines in the back from time to time , but not daily, and the payload is never more than 700kg. Each time a spring has failed there has been a bang and without exception the failure has been with an unloaded van.
Van is lowered 50mm and generally handles great.
The rear springs had air pockets evident in the springs that failed; it was clear to see corrosion on the cross section of the failed springs and a clean sheared section where they eventually let go after the cross section of the springs was compromised. The fresh sheared section of the springs was corrosion free and I would attribute the previous failures to quality issues with the manufacture of the springs.
The van "does some medium duty work" and is then essentially a car the rest of the time, which may tie in with the fact that the initial cracks in the springs probably started when the suspension was well loaded and then eventually failed once corrosion got hold of the cracks in the compromised springs.
It has been driven reasonably sympathetically.
I'll have replacements coming midweek and I will post photos of the springs once removed.

Interestingly, I also have a LWB T30 which has a heavy camper conversion, including on board water tank. This vehicle is of identical spec and age (other than the T30 and big a T32) which has STX coil overs. This vehicle has been perfect with no problems. Three long trips to south of France with family of 5, towing a big caravan and no problems... No failed springs, good ride quality and I would estimate the conversion to be a good 600kg plus all family, luggage, water and also the caravan nose weight I'd not be too surprised to have issues, but all has been fine! This van has run similar miles and is quite a bit lower than the T32 that keeps breaking springs.
It is all very odd!

I had an Eibach spring go last year, the failure appears to be similar, a small crack where the rust starts then a clean break when it all gets too much.
I bought a set off Chris which were KW I believe (Yellow over the Eibach Red) but Eibach did send out a replacement pair to be fair to them.
I have the old 'good' one still should anyone need a single one that has has low usage.

That is certainly very similar. Let's just hope I get the new springs asap, as this vehicle being unusable is getting tricky with my workload!
