I think I sold my winter wheels/tyres on the wrong day! Not hit Leicestershire yet!
That is exactly why I don't take the van out in this sort of weather, you may know what you're doing but you can't rely on everyone else.
Still amazes me people try to steer with locked wheels. As for matey with the t5/t6 and his M+S AT tyres they didn't help too much.
I watched the video that was linked after the one posted. Americans in big 4 wheel drive trucks sliding down a hill towards a junction. Full steering lock, all four wheels locked. Even when they get to the point where they have avoided (by chance) initial impact, I'm thinking "right, now come off the brakes and give it some power to be able to steer the thing," they stay on the brakes. "You have Four Wheel Drive. The clue is in the 'Drive' part of that."
This mode comes as standard on all 4x4s, but for full effect you need to ensure that the button marked "laws of physics" is NOT illuminated.
