Solid or Glazed tailgate

OT as usual but does anybody sleep with their feet at the tailgate end, tried it once and it felt like I was on an operating table!
As for an actual rear window, we've got one (plus both rear corners) and after removing the middle head rest I can now see through the rear window using the mirror although as it's in gangster black like all the rearward glass it's more difficult to see in from the outside.
All side glass or not really comes down to the van paint colour and what style your trying to convey ie. no right or wrong look.

I usually sleep feet at tailgate end, but not always lol. Not sure why I chose either direction.

I quite enjoy looking out the back window from bed when waking up with a beach view! Especially when combined with a cup of coffee...

As I say only tried sleeping with feet at the tailgate end the once and as it leaves your head in mid air hovering over the floor it just felt oddly vulnerable!
The laying in bed and tilting up the last section to watch TV or read while slurping a cuppa is pure Saga Holiday decadence, laying the other way around and flipping the tailgate open to enjoy the view sounds like Richie the surfer dudes style.

Yeah i was going for dummy windows but got advised to have them cut out,so had the rear quaters cut out and oem privacy glass fitted to match the sliders bought from tps.
With the dummy windows you either have to get the inside tinted or sprayed but they peel or flake ,and you are spose to leave a small gap in the sealer at bottom of glass to stop condensation and misting up

Hi, Im looking to have rear quarter glass fitted to my Kombi which had the darker privacy glass fitted during the build. You mentioned TPS for OEM glass. Do you have any contact details please?

Cheers

I got my rear window tinted to match the sides, it looks OK. Once you go past a point the light going through the glass gets reflected instead so you can't see what's behind it whether it's a blank panel or not.IMG20200516113115.jpg

This is my first post on this forum and I must say that your comments to each other have been really useful to me. I'm in the process of purchasing my first van to convert and I have been weighing up the pros and cons of adding windows to the barn doors. I think my personal choice will be to leave them as solid doors as I want the van to be cosy and, as said by others previously, by the time the wife has made me pack all the 'necessities' I probably will have very limited view out of the rear anyway!
