Sportscraft seat bolts size?

Does anyone know the thread size of the rear bolts on the T6 2018 seats.

My OEM seat base has studs at the front and bolts at the back. So I need 4 x new bolts.

Not sure whether to buy OEM through VW in case they are hardened steel. Or buy a quantity from somewhere like Screwfix?

Any thoughts.

Studs on the original VW seat base at the front and 8mm bolts at the back. Mine have always been supplied with the swivel.

Oh that’s good for you. None for me. But it was a lot cheaper than anywhere else. So a good saving.

So now to ask VW to order them!

It depends which swivel you have, the version that I have that is designed to fit over a leisure battery (big central nut facing upwards) has socket headed bolts at the rear and I think nuts with a conical end for the front fitment. I can have a look later in the week if you wish and post some pictures.
As I said, these came with the swivel plate.
The other version of plate which has the big central nut facing downwards uses the same nuts & bolts as those used to secure the VW seat in place.

Hi thanks for the reply and info.

I have big central nut in the centre facing upwards too. Good to know that will take a leisure battery in the future.

After two attempts where VW initially ordered the incorrect bolts with an allen key countersunk head. I know have the OEM replacement bolts. Pack of 10. £6 + VAT. They are not black coloured or as smooth in appearance as the OEM. But perhaps I am being too picky!

These are the fixings that came with my Sportscraft seat swivel, this is for the version with the bug nut above the swivel plates.

Front nut removed from stud, note the countersunk fitment to enable a nut full of thread when screwed down and clear the swivel when turned. This looks like the image below when screwed down.

Rear bolt fitted and screwed down, button head with hex socket is to clear the swivel when turned.

As far as I understand there are no OEM VW nuts or bolts that are suitable for this fitment.

Rod

Well how interesting Rod. What year is your T6 incidentally?

I guess I can see it working both ways. And your install is perhaps more stronger.

I will have to check underneath how much thread the bolt takes up. Hopefully none.

Kind regards

@Ethan Andrews my T6 was manufactured on the 14th April 2016

As far as I can see from the parts list for the past ten years or so there have only been a couple of variations in OEM nuts & bolts for normal seat mounting.
