Stance+ Ultra front knocking on T6. Bushes?

What nuts did you use on the top mount?
The original vw must not be used as this is too tall and your right the small top plate won't sit right amd leaves a gap

Did you use the self locking nut with the kit to hold the top mount, bearing and spring in place? This is a shorter nut or use the nut which goes on top of the little plate instead

Don't use the original nut from the shockabsorber.

You can swap them over without taking the whole lot off but you need a deep angled spanner and 7mm Allen key on the top.

Or a pass through ratchet socket set so the Allen key can be used in tandem when removing and refiting different nuts

Thanks mate, I believe that they were put back together using the tall nut to rebuild the top mount (top mount, bearing and spring).
I had previously read somewhere on this forum that the original nut is too tall but also read conflicting answers. I might get the mechanic to do a quick swap if they don’t need to be completely disassembled. Cheers

I’ve read the same thing to reuse the standard nut. So now I am unsure as well? Worth a try I guess

I found it too large
But your right some have reused it. Stance would be better to include the info in their Instructions.

Did you get it sorted in the end? Think I'm suffering from something similar;
So far i've replaced;
Top Mounts - T6 Upgrade kit onto T5.1van
Drop Links
Driveshaft

Mechanic has said he thinks maybe lower ball joint so thats next.

Mine is still doing it too.
I changed the tall nut and shorter nut around on the top of the strut (changed to smaller one first/at the bottom) but made no difference.
I also replaced the sway bar/ARB bushes to 22mm as I had previously had 24mm ones fitted but they looked too big/loose.
I also replaced both the front lower control arm bushes (both front and rear) with SuperPro bushes.
I haven't gone down the driveshaft route but am due for a service in about 1,000kms so am going to get the lower ball joints replaced.
I'll keep the thread updated if a find a solution.

Got same knocking on B14s. Changed top mounts to Meyle HD and it made worse! Drop links replaced last year - Meyle HD too. Van has done 30k so suspension bushes should not be worn yet.

I have a similar knock noise, have you got this problem resolved yet?

I had it resolved when I replaced the front shocks, eventually stance sent me 2 new shocks after sending them images and videos. The new shocks were fitted and the noise went.
But
One month later, it’s back again.
I’m going to CRS to see Steve today and hopefully get it sorted once and for all

Out of interest how bad was the play in the front shocks?

It was evident when you clamped them in a vice and the shocks had marks on the shafts, if you jack up the van you might be able to see marks or discolouration on the shaft

When mine where clamped in a vice there was very slight play in the shock, didn't notice any marks. I will have to check the shafts again.

Their customer service is terrible. I’m still trying to get them to collect the shocks which are damaged to confirm what’s wrong with them. Been at it for about 2-3 weeks now and they seem incapable of arranging a collection (which they offered in the first instance)

Not yet. Still have the problem. Based on BlackThunder5.1's issues (and some other members posts on here), i'm guessing my front shocks are possibly dodgy too. I've had mine for over 2 years and live in Oz so the chance of me having mine replaced is pretty thin........
I just bought some stock suspension off a bloke over here for $50 and am thinking about just putting it back to standard.

Just to add to this regarding the post on customer service. Spoke on the phone to Venom Motorsport who were helpful, I bought from StancedUK who are an approved distributor. Venom were limited in what they could do as it had to come from StancedUK which is where I’ve been struggling. I’ve give up with Stance+ suspension anyway and gone for the H&R coil overs off CRS. I’m sending the set back to Stanced to hopefully get replacements

Hi Everyone,

I know that there are a few threads on here mentioning this very problem but I cannot find an answer.

Fitted Stance + Ultras to my 2017 T6 Multivan and have experienced a minor knocking noise in the front ever since (mainly at low speeds and also when turning into carparks, driveways, etc).

It is like the tall strut nut that goes on the top of the coilover strut assembly is too tall and prevents the stop cup from sitting hard against the body of the van when the final top nut is tightened.

I've had coilovers previously on a T5 with absolutely no issues. Are the T6 top mounts and bearings thinner than the T5 variety?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Got exactly the same issue with B14's, did you resolve the problem?
