I've got a mk7 Golf Gti TCR steering wheel i purchased it to fit to my golf gti. But as i am now selling the golf i wont be using it. I have been considering fitting it to my T6 but its a breadline model van with no MFSW and the thought of having all those buttons on the wheel and none doing anythng seems a waste.
Shame they dont do nice wheels without the mf capabilities. Might try and find a highline wheel and get it retrinmed.

@HoopDub You could get the blanks for the buttons and sell the buttons on? There are some nice CF & Piano black surrounds for them available.

Mate a different set of buttons. Coding and wiring that'll work

Sorry if this has been covered, I’ve tried looking but haven’t found an exact answer..
I bought an R-Line wheel a couple of years ago and only just getting around to fitting it, expecting it to be a straight swap. Once connected the left hand buttons don’t work (apart from the volume) and the horn doesn’t work. I’ve noticed on the original airbag there’s one less pin on the yellow plug and one extra on the black plug. There’s also an additional spade connector on the new air bag. Will swapping these looms solve the problem and can I just leave the additional spade terminal with nothing connected?
Any help appreciated! IMG_2096.jpegIMG_2099.jpegIMG_2100.jpegIMG_2101.jpeg

Had a good search but can't find the answer. Currently have a T6 round plastic non-MFSW wheel. Would like to fit a flat bottom leather one. I've seen plenty of ones for sale without an airbag.

Are there any leather flat bottom wheels (non-MFSW) where I would be able to use my current airbag?

If I do go for one with an airbag, are there any VW wheels where I wouldn't be able to swap the looms to make fit it on a t6 (i.e. any wheels I should avoid)?

I used the airbag I had and just swapped the wheel. Best person to contact about this would be Chris @Dav-Tec …. he can exchange your old for new plus do any extra wiring and coding required…. he sorted mine!

That wheel looks great - do you remember what model it came from?
Anybody looking to upgrade their current steering wheel should check out customise_steering_wheel on Instagram. David and his son Patrick take genuine VW wheels and custom make them up to your requirements.

As I was upgrading from the standard plastic Startline/Trendline to a MFSW, David supplied the correct wheel with the correct buttons (no cruise control on the wheel) and also the wiring loom to make life easy.

I chose a flat bottom wheel with muscles, black stitching, leather top and bottom with perforated leather on the sides and the surround around the airbag I chose matte black instead of the normal Highline gloss black.

I just need to get it coded now so that all the buttons work, but really pleased with how it looks and feels.... spot on!

As I said above, contact Chris @Dav-Tec …. Chris can get hold of these wheels direct, fit, code and make sure everything is working as it should.
