Suspension bolt direction wrong?

Hi all, I am writing to ask for help and to clear up a doubt. Following the instructions found here on the forum, in search of a more comfortable ride, I decided to trust the words of crs performance, and I did well because with the original springs and the koni special active, the ride is much improved. thanks. but when I looked under the wheel arch I noticed that the two large bolts in pairs on the bottom of the shock absorber that hold, seemed to be in the wrong direction, the mechanic (not a vw specialist) says he mounted them as he found them, but I think they are wrong. do you know if it makes no difference to keep them like this, and which way are yours facing? any help is appreciated

Are you talking about the picture n1? Could i put a new one without unplug the cable?
yes one one for the hydraulic hose. The grommet my still be on the hose but just not pushed into the bracket on the shock base, as it is on the second picture.

but wait maybe there is a misunderstanding on the photos, the first one is from front to back, the second one is the other way around, I saw that both sides have 2 small grommets that hold a small cable on top and 1 bigger grommet that holds the brake cable but only on the back. 3 grommets in total, right?

Ah - that makes sense - Just checked mine and it is the same, and mounting bolts all go in from the back, with nuts on the front

Mine failed it’s mot at the VW van centre in December front o/s shock leaking so they replaced it the same day and said the near side will want doing before next mot,so I decided to replace both front shock at the same time for after market shocks and replaced the bolts for new and fitted them the same way as the Vw fitter bolt head to the front nut to rear.

That's as maybe but it's not what VWs own workshop manual says - the image I posted above is from there. The bolts on mine haven't been touched until I fitted CRS H&R coilovers and from new the bolts were as per workshop manual.

It might not matter on these vans but on cars with strut nuts to the front it's to ensure the loading is correctly applied to the bolts/nuts
