THANKYOU! I have got through to SV Tech on that telephone number and will call again on Monday. The DVLC have definitely given me the wrong number.

Thankyou Loz. I have noticed that a "7" has been mis-interpreted as a "2" (somebodies handwriting at the DVLC? ) Well they are overwhelmed! I will. try on Monday.

Looks like your browser interprets the address wrongly:

I have got the add-on "https everywhere" disabled yet I still get https://www.svtech.co.uk/ when I type in www.svtech.co.uk/contact/ and "file not found".

Interesting. Also clicking on your post takes me to SvTech website.

Perhaps your computer's Firewall is blocking port 80 (as https communication uses port 443).
For more e.g here
Have to admit that a website shouldn't use anymore plain www-addressing.

I used SV Tech to uprate my T26 to 2800, straightforward paper-exercise, no physical changes to the van, no problems.
I just tried their website and it came up straight away in Chrome:
Incidentally encryption is fine for sensitive data but all my sites are http as I cant afford the ssl process. The web isnt just for business, many amateur or hobby sites dont use ssl for the same reason :) I sincerely hope its never made mandatory.

Thankyou Phil. I have had success in getting the SV Tech website in Vivaldi, Pale Moon and Brave ----WHOOPEE! However Firefox gets something else and Edge comes up with OUT OF DATE CERTIFICATE....NOT SAFE even though I have deleted HTTPS EVERYWHERE. I will explore the site today. I must praise this forum as it has helped me a lot since I joined, thanks everyone!

I have had a reply from SV Tech! This is it:-

Thanks for the enquiry, I’m afraid the category given to the vehicle at point of registration can’t be changed on the V5. Whilst the
changes can be physically made to change the vehicle the DVLA won’t allow any reclassification. We’ve had this problem now for many years and numerous different applications but the DVLA won’t move on the reclassification.
Regards
Stephen Heap.

Has anyone ever been able to reclassify an NI to an MI?
The DVLA also need a Plating Certificate to update the weight of the van but what are the pro's and con's of doing this?

Thanks. Looks like the end of the road then! Any comments on updating the weight of the van , what are the pro's and con's of doing this?
Pro’s are you’ll never less likely be overweight (my camper conversion brings my T28 to 2400kg with just me but no luggage or kit in it, for instance). You’ll be able to tow heavier trailers / caravans, too.
Cons are you’ll be restricted to your tyre and wheel choice - only as much as you’ll be looking at T32 only options.

Thanks. Seems like I may update the weight then.

Completely off topic here, but i have multiple domains with SSL certs for free using Let's Encrypt I also have the same sites hosted free of charge on a VM, the only thing i pay for is domain registration.
