Swivel seats with adapter plates.

Hi all.
Newbie here after some help and advice.
I've searched the forums and found a lot of information about swivel bases and adapters for VAG seats but not much about both together.
I'm looking at fitting Audi A5 S line seats into my partners T6.
We've ordered the swivel adapters from Transporter HQ and have been told these can only be fitted with Rusty Lee swivels. This is the bit that confuses me. As the mounting holes on all swivels are designed to line up with the base and the seat mounting points, and the adapters must therefore line up in a similar fashion, so why can we only use Rusty Lee swivels as opposed to any others?
After reading many threads on here regarding swivel bases we would possibly prefer an alternative swivel with more stability.
Has anyone else used Transporter HQ adapter plates with alternative swivels?
Thank you in advance for any help and advice.

I've got Audi wingback seats in my van, fitted using THQ adapter plates.

I decided I wanted swivel seats so bought a rusty lee swivel and and the THQ swivel plates to match. Fitted it to the passenger seat and all worked perfectly.

I then found 2 RIB swivels for a great price so went about fitting them to the van. There lies the issue. Because the RIB swivel uses a lever on the side, this fouls the adapter plate. I cut out a section of the adapter plate to get it to work and all seemed good. Another, and more pressing issue, is the welds on the RIB swivel sit very proud of itself. This means the adapter plate doesn't sit flat. It would work with spacers, but I wasn't happy with how that would work.

I sold the 2 RIB swivels and refitted my RustyLee one. So currently have passenger seat on a rustylee swivel and THQ passenger swivel adapter, and drivers seat on the normal THQ adapter. That means I've not got a normal adapter plate and drivers swivel plate sat in the garage! Haha

Ah, I have been wondering the same thing. I have bought the THQ adapter plates and was hoping to use them with Sportscraft swivels. I too couldn’t understand why they were advertised as only being Rusty Lee compatible.

Sportscraft swivels appear to have the lever on the front, so I wonder if they would still work.

That's what I was thinking.
I've got CTA swivels on my Relay van and they're front lever. Also no welds on top to interfere with anything.

Would you be interested in selling the Rusty Lee drivers swivel?
