Swivel Seats With Vw Night Heater

Hi everyone,

Has anyone got any experience of fitting aftermarket swivel seat on the passenger side with the VW night heater optioned on a 2019 T6 lwb Kombi?

The issue is the night heater comes with a second battery underneath the single passenger seat. When fitting the Just Kampers passenger swivel seat there’s a large nut underneath the swivel plate which sits on top of the battery, meaning the plate is too high. The only way around it I can see is to cut away the battery tray from the seat frame (it’s welded in place) in order to move the battery rearwards and allow space for the nut. This seems like a pretty drastic option, so would love to know if anyone else has gone through this process and s any other work around?

Cheers all

Matt

The factory swivel sits above a battery without touching.

Thanks Loz, so I’d need to buy factory swivels? The reason I didn’t spec them in the first place is I wanted the height adjustment.

@Oldrat, that’s a good idea... will look into lower batteries

Thanks

Fitted swivel to mine with factory LB without issue. Used sportcraft with nut on top.

Sportscraft seat swivels come in two versions, one as the OP describes with the nut protruding below and the other specifically designed with the nut higher to clear a battery under the seat. See Our Seats : Accessories:.
I've used these albeit with a battery under the right front seat but there is no reason for not using it on the left seat.
