T 6.1 Tyre Sensors? not fitted with Nav Infotainment ?

Hi i had a flat tyre the other day on 23 plate highline conversion T6.1 but had no warnings on dash - and according to tyre man there is not a symbol for it anyway- its fitted with the Nav media info player - so looked into settings as mentioned on here and no sensors fitted ? is that correct or is a software/program issue now?
thanks in advance

I have a 21reg Highline, definitely no tyre pressure sensors fitted ( 4 less things to go wrong !!! ) I expect yours is the same.

Tpms can be passive and done by abs or active and done with sensors or not fitted at all (although quite rare on a t6.1)

Mine is also a 21 plate highline and had not TPMS as it was an option when new. I have switched passive on using vcds though.

I have the same question. When we bought the Crewbus beginning of 2024 we asked for tyre pressure monitoring. What we have is a system where we have to make sure all the tyre pressures are correct (I presume manually gauging it), and then press set on the infotainment. I recently saw another Crewbus that actually has pressure numbers next to each wheel. What I understand from this forum is that there has to be sensors fitted as well. I was under the impression that that was included but apparently not. This brings me to my question. Do I go to VW to have it fitted so that it will be on the Infotainment display?

There are two versions, direct tpms and indirect tpms
Indirect uses the abs sensors to measure wheel rotation speed and alert you of any changes
Direct uses sensors in the valves of each wheel to give exact pressure readings on the screen

VW will not be able to retrofit direct tpms, if you really want it you will need to speak to retrofit company or do it yourself

Thank you. Will do.

I think (but I'm prepared to be corredted) all 6.1s have indirect monitoring as standard - my Startline certainly does and rheess no lower spec option that that - and direct sensor monitoring was an option on some models.

I would suggest it's a fairly pointless option. Indirect monitoring is extremely reliable as its essentially just an extra bit of software that reads signals from the wheel speed sensors.

It's also very sensitive - mine recently pulled my trousers down and gave me a good spanking because it had detected one of the rears was 2psi blow then other three boots, which I thought was pretty good. I reset the tyre pressures at the local garage and within a few hundred miles it congratulated me and the warning cleared.

It's so reliable and sensitive id beg to question why anyone would want troublesome wheel sensors at all?

That said, you had a flat and had no warning...which completely undermines what Id believed in my first paragraph...yet my basic spec Startline has it....?

You mention that your rear tyre was 2 psi below. I presume then that this was determined when you visited the local garage? The reason for my asking is that I don't see any values for the pressures on my infotainment although I have ensured that the pressures are where they should be and have set it, as such.

Just for information my T6.1 Highline didn't have it as standard. It was an option.

As I recall it flashed up I the middle of the dash display, but it was back in early September so my memory may be faulty on that point.

Ok thanks. I suddenly realised that I don't have TPMS in rather a Tyre Pressure Loss Indicator. This means it'll only let me know if one of the tyres have lost pressure. I can't see the actual pressure per tyre. So that was a bit of an unnecessary run around for everyone. Sorry about that. Thanks for all the feedback though.
