T30 Alloy Wheel Guidance

Afternoon All. I’m going for a set of multispoke wheels for my T6.1 T30 SWB. I like the look of the DRC Rapide or Wolfrace Munich in gloss black but can’t seem to find any in stock anywhere. I’ve seen some Fox FX004s and AYR02 that look similar but never heard of them before. Therefore can I ask if anybody has any experience with these two?

A fall back could be a set of T5 style Sportsline wheels. Are the BCD, offset, etc. the same as for a T6.1. I’ll need to know as I would be buying second hand unless I can find a new set

Thanks for any advice

Hello

We sell a lot of wheels - we are dealer for pretty much all the manufacturers out there.

We have set of second hand T6 Sportlines coming up shortly, off a van we have just purchased if interested - Or is it just the T5 sportiness you are after

Best to DM us or message using our contact form on the website and we can see if we can help - Of course always happy to talk on the phone fi easier?

I’m following this thread. I’d be keen to hear what peoples experience with gloss black and matte black alloys are. Which finish lasts best and resists wear and tear better? I’m a massive fan of a 5 spoke black wheel for my silver bus, but don’t know what finish to run with....

I'm running a set of Gloss Black 18" Wolfrace Munich and they've been OK...but I washed them at the weekend (after the van hadn't been used for a few weeks) and I've found that the varnish is lifting off on both rear wheels.

I'm going to be replacing them soon with 19" Brock rims, so the Munich's will be getting powder-coated then sold.

Out of curiosity I checked the warranty on the Wolfrace site and it's 12 months. If you have polished or diamond cut and run them over winter, then there is no warranty!

Thank you,I’ve found a set of DRC wheels I’m going to go for. Now to tyres. I’m a bike guy so not good with car tyres but the options I have are 255/45/18 or a 255/55/18. I guess it’s the profile that’s different? Would the wheel still be the same diameter and hence not much up speedo or computer things. I also assume a 45 would give a bumpier ride. Opinions appreciated before I order. Thanks

255 45 R18 is the correct size - 255 55 18 will put the wheel diameter at 737.7mm OD, which would give a speedo error of 6-7% (at 28mph you'll actually be doing over 30 etc) I'm running 255 45 18's (Uniroyal Rainsport 5's) and they're perfect.

Thanks for the clarification. Next is tyres. I’m tending towards the Uniroyal Rainsport 5 too. Also looking at Bridgestone Turanza T005 so interested in opinion.

Not tried the Turanza but I love Rainsports...5's appear to be less grippy than 3's but they're lasting longer though. Best wet-weather tyres I've found (especially if you're a 'spirited' driver like me!!)
