T6.1 Highline, California etc… variants

I’m new to this community having just purchased my T6.1 Highline which has been converted.

I’ve gone down the rabbit hole and I’m seeing more about the Transporter California, as well as the Ocean etc. What is the actual difference? Why is the T6.1 Highline so much more popular than the California?

• The option to self-build some/all aspects

No water heater is fitted to the California. Many independent converters fit these which provides a hot water supply for the sink and a rear shower. This was a deal-breaker for me when I ordered my van as SWMBO would not set foot in anything without hot water.
