T6.1 no good?!!

Hi,

New to vw campervans and vans in general. I recently bought a 71 plate camper king converted t6.1… (start line with business pack 110bhp), am really pleased with it and have already got the HQ Led front lights, and saving for loads of other bits I’d like to get done, will be a continuous project!

However, the last week or so all I seem to be seeing is how “crap” the t6.1s are…. everyone seems to be selling… is it just me???

It's not just you, but there's a split.

I went for a 6.1 because I preferred the drive. The arguably inferior dashboard design was a bit of a downer, but ultimately has zero effect on the function.

But while they made zero difference to me, for others the minor spec downgrades are a serious downer and they prefer the 6.

Go with whatever suits you rather than what some stranger on the Internet says.

Not everyone is selling - far from it. If you've no experience of previous generations, like me, then you won't be any the wiser and you won't miss what you never knew.

I’ve had mine for 4 months and can honestly say it’s wouldn’t sell it for a 7….just spent the last 3 weeks driving through France and Spain and it’s been a joy…..it is what you make it. I upgraded from a 5 and it’s so smooth to drive. Just my thoughts

Hello fellow Suffolk T6 owner!

I am very fortunate (depending on how you look at it...and some might say otherwise!!) to have a T6 camper and a 6.1 PV4M....I love them both for different reasons and have no plans on selling either.
Ok they both might have their niggles but then what doesn’t? Ford Transhit maybe?!
Plus you are part of a big friendly community of like minded enthusiasts….do you get that with the other brands, im not sure you do, but I could be wrong.

I’ve had my T6.1 Startline 110 with business pack from new and due its first mot on Oct 1st and I have no quibbles with it whatsoever.
