T6.1 USB-C Port not working

Bonjour,
Nous venons d'acquérir un t6.1 de 2021, les 2 ports USB-C (a côté de l'allume cigare) ont fonctionné 1 mois et depuis rien, pas de charge et plus de carplay....sur un câble VW d'origine vérifié (ok) et le fusible est ok. On a tout aspiré et nettoyé à fond. Avez-vous rencontré le problème ? Est-il possible qu'ils soient désactivés ? Comment démonter les ports USB-C ??

We have just acquired a 2021 t6.1, the 2 USB-C ports (next to the cigar lighter) have worked for 1 month and since then nothing, no charging and no more carplay....on a verified original VW cable (ok) and the fuse is ok. We vacuumed and cleaned everything thoroughly. Did you encounter the problem? Is it possible for them to be deactivated? How to disassemble the USB-C ports?

I have a T6.1 and for some reason one of my USB-C ports is not working. When i connect my phone to the lower port it charges and connects the phone to Apple Carplay. But when i use the top port, it does not charge and does not recognise it for Carplay use.

Is this something common thats been addressed before? could be a loose wire behind the port? Asking before i have a mechanic look at it.

They are a bit hit and miss to be honest, it will not be a loose wire , there are 2 plugs and if one or the other is poor both sockets won’t work if that makes sense,

All the usual done , tried different wires, reboot van, phones etc etc ad infinitum.

Any assistance much appreciated before it’s off to the garage and a big billl no doubt

I have come to the conclusion that this is a software issue on the phone, android in my case.
It recently failed to connect reliably, but then after a few weeks it started working again. During this spell I found that deleting the apps cache seemed to help.
My phone is an older android, probably 4 or 5 years old. I suspect Google breaks it sometimes when they 'fix' bugs on other more modern phones, or something like that. Unlikely that they will check it works properly on all available phone types.

Mines the same, 21 plate hit and miss, one will work, then the other, used different cables, can’t be fuse as they do work randomly, will fix it one day, but put it down to poor VW build quality components

Following up on this in case it proves useful for anyone else.

I tried the proposal of using contact cleaner and toothbrush - no joy.

I purchased the replacement part 2G6035736 - that fixed it.

I noticed the new part has a HW version 010, SW version 0320 and a date showing 12/2022. That compared to the outgoing part which was HW version 007, SW version 0317 and dated 11/20. I assume this is a newer hardware + software revision so let's hope it lasts longer than the last!

Hi all, first post and appreciate your assistance with my USB-C port issue. I've used the search feature and whilst a few others seem to have had a similar issue, I couldn't find a resolution - hence my post. I have a 2020 T6.1 with the entry level Composition Media Colour infotainment...
