Hi all, first post and appreciate your assistance with my USB-C port issue. I've used the search feature and whilst a few others seem to have had a similar issue, I couldn't find a resolution - hence my post.
I have a 2020 T6.1 with the entry level CompositionMedia Colour infotainment system. I use the wired CarPlay feature exclusively. The van is out of warranty.
The USB-C ports located near the cup holder have been acting up for around 6 months. One port was intermittently connecting, then stopped completely. The other has now done the same. It was a state of gradual decline for both, but I now can't get anything from either - no power supplied to the connected device for charging, no wired connection to CarPlay.
I've tried multiple cables. Quality ones, cheap ones, cables I've used in the past, brand new cables I've never used before. I've validated all those cables work fine when plugged in to other devices.
I've tried multiple phones and verified they charge and establish a data connection with other connected devices correctly.
I've checked the 10A fuse in position 15 on Fuse Box C per this reference. All good.
I've pulled the cup holder assembly out and manually checked and re-seated both the cables to the USB-C unit part number 2G6035736.
I've air dusted the ports themselves.
Nothing made a difference. Any other things I should be looking in to here?
My local VAG parts supplier can get me a replacement 2G6035736 for £50-ish including VAT which I'm fine with. I'm planning to try that next.
Thanks,
Dan
