T6 Euro 6 UK road tax

Hello. I'm new to the forum.
Anyway, I recently emailed my local MP to ask why Euro 6 vans incur higher road tax than Euro 4 or Euro 5, asking her to take it up with the Chancellor.
She replied, saying she could see no reason for this other than the road tax system for vans is outdated; she said she'd ask the Chancellor and would get back to me when she's received a reply.
If, like me, you have a Euro 6 van (even if you don't have one!), please write to your MP, asking them to pursue this. Maybe, just maybe, if enough people do this, it might make a difference.
(Tip: you'll have to include your name and address so that your MP will be able to respond under parliamentary rules.)
Hi have you heard anything on the Road Tax, I feel the same having just paid mine which has gone up £30 to £320, and my son pays alot less for his T5

Mine is £00.00. About the only advantage of being somewhat mobility restricted is that I qualify for the mobility element of PIP and therefore zero car tax. It doesn't make up for it though.

Euro 5 £140 and part of the reason we bought it  .
And like DXX we will be living in it for 3 months in europe over winter ...either that or we'll take the car and rent somewhere not decided yet .

Does a UK registered vehicle need to be taxed in the UK when it's not in the UK?

Mine went up £30 this year, it goes up every year, now £320,and I have tried to find out why but no answers

the road tax system is stupid and unfair
they keep changing it every few years
we had 2 new identical Audi A6,s ordered and one came in jan 2006 it was £260
the other came in april and was £395
now they are £415 and £710 both same cars !

I'm used to taxing an XC90 so even if I had to pay the 6.1 would be a bit of light relief in comparison.
