T6 Intermittent Starting Problem

Hello Have a problem with a T6 van 2017 2.0 Tdi 150 manual. It runs perfectly, then every now and again it refuses to start. The engine cranks over but will not fire up and is not giving any fault codes. Had it in the local garage and had the cam position sensor and crank shaft sensor replaced the mechanic thought it could be these as there were no fault codes. It ran for a few days and then the problem reocurred. The garage say there is no more they can do. Sometimes I drive home from work about 15 miles in it, park it on my driveway then get in it to drive it 20 minutes later and it will not start just turns over, even the following morning it still will not start. Eventually after many tries and sometimes calling the AA out it will start and run fine again. It is a very fustrating fault as it cannot be easily demonstrated for diagnosis. Does anyone have any ideas please ?

You got access to vcds to log some data?

@mmi has done extensive work with vcds data logging for crank no starts.

Ie, start the logger running to catch the no start. Then stop and post the results.

How old is your starter battery?
It can have enough charge to turn the van over but not quick enough for it to fire up.

Hi Thanks for reply no access to VCDS where abouts do I buy a copy of this please ?
