Did you hang around while they did ?
Interested to know if they upgrade any of the loom or just convert the wiring at the back of the headlight
Does your rotary headlight switch have any effect on the level of the lights since changed ?

I took them about 7 hours to fit the lights and front parking sensors. I got the whole package of lights, self levelling mechanism and headlight washers. The rotary switch has been swapped out for a single one now that just does internal lighting dimmer. All done with factory parts.

I work it out to be approx £1700 per light including auto levelling and vat. Is it a specialist job which requires new wiring connectors etc or a straight swap plug and play job? I imagine the auto levelling part is the tricky bit. I really want these!

I went pretty far into this with a view to doing it on mine but wasnt 100% happy with the wiring loom, looking at wiring diagrams for the LED headlights the cables from the BCM to the lights are different CSA and theres more of them
For example the standard lights only have one side light feed and one DRL feed per side but the LEDs require 3 in total as the DRL/sidelights combo has the outer ring plus the lights on the two LED modules in the middle also the negative cables are different, standard lights have 2 x 1.5mm -ve cables but the LED has 1 x 1.5 and 1 x 2.5mm -ve cables

Personally i think the LEDs could be fitted and would work with a simple adapter plug behind the headlight and one of the side/drl cables split into two but its impossible to get the running current of the LED modules etc without plugging it in and running it through an ammeter, this is why i asked if the wiring was modified when the above were fitted as i am tempted to fit them but just feels a little risky without a little more info on the draw of the lamps

I still have 10 pin sockets and 14 pin plugs at the office semi rigged up as adapter leads to try them out but lack the balls to order and use them !!

Blimey that's keen!

Did you have H4s or H7s?

Pleased?

Hi Pauly, sounds as though you've looked into this in depth. I'd be interested in seeing the LED wiring diagrams if you have them available? The increased CSA will be for the constant current drivers used for high power LEDs. I'm really keen to DIY these lights with the help of an auto electro wizard I know. I too think it's doable....

Well the process has begun, i have purchased a set of LED headlights with power modules etc etc in preparation for the swap over
Rigged them up resting on my engine last night and they all lit up and did what they were supposed too, havent finalised a couple connections yet but so far so good just need to find a couple hours to get the bumper off and swap the lights over, hopefully this weekend time allowing

Only question now is do i fit a caravelle grille while i have the front end of ?
Not overly mad on chrome but like the way the top chrome strip on the caravelle grille adds onto the additional chrome bit higher up in the led headlights

Choices choices ??????

Two thoughts come to mind @Pauly, these are:-
1. Is this because you felt left out at Bala and not permitted on the "front row" of the pitching line as one of those lesser non-led illuminated vans?
And
2. After all the practice you now have at removing front bumpers what with your own and Fish's (in a field none the less) I would have thought you'd have it down to a fine art and a ten minute, one arm behind the back whilst blindfolded, performing oragami with your toes, type of operation!
;).
Anyway, welcome to team LED, brother in illumination.

Not quite in the team yet but hopefully by next week will all be sorted :)

It would make sense to change grilles whilst doing the light upgrade @Pauly unless you have fitted quick release grille fasteners by now :whistle:
