Again after some advice and help around T6 interior lights from the experts.

I want to remove the factory rear interior lights and extend the cables and replace with an LED strip light at the rear above the barn doors.

Plan is just to use the 12v switched feed so that the light comes on with the doors being opened and then switches off with the timed delay.

Plan is to use socket and crimps to extend the factory loom and not cut anything.

Was looking to use small Labcraft Nebula switched strip light across rear of the van - SI5CW250. Average current 0.24a, 10-14Vdc,

So many questions and would welcomes everyone’s thoughts and suggestions.

Labcraft strip just has +ve (Red) & -ve (Black).
Was going to wire these into the factory loom as:-
Red/Black (Red) and Brown/Red (Black) from the factory loom in the hope this provides the door switched supply.

Red/Black - +ve
Brown - Permanent -ve
Brown/Red - Switched -ve

Questions:
- Are those the right colours to get it switched off the door / timed feed?

- What size cable to use. Extension of the loom is less than 1m, maybe 50 or 60cm. The internal loom crimp says 0.5mm cable, is that sufficient? Any recommendations on a suitable cable?

- Also read a lot about internal LEDs showing dim and not switching off or creating canbus errors. Some suggest addition of a resistor, would that be needed and why. Is there a risk of these issues and any ideas how to avoid?

Before I launch into the above, any suggestions, thoughts or ideas before I break something…..
