I don't have it in front of me and was a while ago but..... No.

Follow Robert's comment exactly and all will make sense. Don't use the arrows to select Byte 01 & 02

In the coding of your module 09 click directly on the BYTE 01 and 02 and then tick your bits as required.
The labels for these bits are not officially documented in the VCDS yet.

No. The bits are numbered as 7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0, the 0 being the rightmost.

Perhaps the easiest way would be to use the LCode2 tab to open up all the tickboxes, and simply tick the bit 6 there.

Finding it really interesting how everyone uses VCDS. (Everyday is a school day).

You could also just type "2" or click on Byte 1 or 2.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your time and help—it’s been incredibly useful!

I’ve realized my mistake. Instead of clicking directly on the long line, I clicked here

and then… nothing happened.

Thanks to your guidance, I clicked in the correct spot this time, and now we can clearly see the difference.

I’ve made the necessary adjustments, and after a few moments…

Good news! Everything is working as expected now!

Thank you all again for your support!

One last question about the measurements:

  • Before the modification:

  • After the modification:

I was expecting to see something change when I pulled the button, but nothing seems to happen. Am I missing something?

Anyway, it’s mostly working now, so thanks again!

Yes, I read this in the VCDS manual after my last comment and it was too late to correct it here.

Thank you for pointing that out!

Is it OEM switch?

Correct. The group 008-3 (the boxed) shows status of switch inside the tailgate.

Group 008-4 is for monitoring the switch outside the tailgate - does the 008-4 change status when operated?

Do you see tailgate door status (closed/ajar/open) in groups 006-2 and 006-3?

Hi MMI
No it's just a button like this one 1732289937316.png

Maybe this is why the information is not displayed.

Anyway. It's working so I'm happy with that even If the measurting module do not display the information.

Thanks for your reply. I'll have a look to 008-4 and 006-3 and 4 and get back to you

Yes, that kind of switch will "identify" itself as a switch outside tailgate.

Just put a 180 ohm resistor in series to make it act as an OEM switch inside - enabling to open tailgate from inside even when van is locked (of course it still won't unlock safe-locked van)

Yes, that is exactly what I've done.
put a 180 ohm resistor and it works.
I've seen that the button opens the tailgate even if the car is locked.
I'm not aware of the difference between lock and safe-lock

Got it

1. Safe-Lock (Deadlocking)

  • Function: Disables the interior door handles after locking the vehicle. This means that even if someone breaks a window, they cannot unlock the doors from the inside.
  • How to Activate: Lock the vehicle using the remote key fob (press the lock button twice quickly). You might see a warning on the dashboard or in the manual stating "Check Safe-Lock" if this feature is activated.
  • Safety Note: Be cautious when using Safe-Lock, especially if passengers or pets are left inside, as they won’t be able to open the doors.

2. Lock

  • Function: Locks the vehicle normally. The doors can still be opened from the inside using the door handles, which is useful if people or pets are inside.
  • How to Activate: Lock the vehicle using the remote or the key (single press of the lock button).
Key Difference: Safe-Lock adds an extra layer of security by preventing the doors from being opened from the inside, while Lock allows the doors to be opened internally.

NB: as you’re a member with a French van, yours differs from ours in that we just press lock once and safelock is the details option. Pressing twice undoes deadlock but leaves the vehicle locked:
On UK models its the other way around, single press is deadlock/safelock and the second press disables deadlock so doors can be opened from insode
