t6 windscreen eater

I know Pauly.....I have wondered about that. I've also wondered whether or not an insurance company would be bothered about a relatively small and troublesome claim? I like the sound of the film covering though.
Ok as closure on this , windscreen fitter came today ,, words were exchanged as to cause of damage ( that was quite extensive under the cowling !) with him siting a blunt force , tennis ball , football etc , and me claiming , that any trauma would leave a mark on the plastic cowl ( I work with plastics for a living ), any how , we agreed to differ , he called his manager , I got a new screen foc , and blame was put on .... bad connection to windscreen heater , but tbh , and whether it's connected or not , I'm sure I heard a little ping , when I first used the screen heater After the last screen was fitted ,not sure if I imagined this or not , but the damage seemed to be centred on one of the cable entry points , I wonder if a localised hot spot could do this ? Interesting ........ discuss
Bloody hell.... there are a lot of windscreens being consumed in this forum. My last T5 went 8 years and 90k on thenoriginal screen despite taking a few stones over the years. Something isn't right....
My van was delivered from a VW dealer in the midlands to Dorset and half way down I received a phone call that the windscreen had just cracked! This was back in November last year, I was given the option for the Van to return to dealer or get it fixed down in Dorset and VW would pay. I took the latter option but it does seem to be a really common problem on them.
Amen to that brother - just look at twoguns issues for case and point!
I've had a small crack in mine for a few months now; having read about all these repeat issues, I really can't be bother to change it yet.
