HOW-TO​

Engine running​

VCDS > Select > Engine > Basic Settings > IDE00457-Test of turbocharger​

Select "Measuring Values"

Pick up e.g. the following data items for monitoring:

IDE00021 Engine RPM​
IDE07736 Turbocharg.2 compress.outlet: press.sensor 1 bank 1: raw value (bi-turbo only)​
IDE07738 Charge air cooler inlet: pressure sensor 1 bank 1: raw value​
IDE07783 Turbine actuator 1 bank 1: posit.feedback - Raw voltage​
IDE07784 Turbine actuator 1 bank 1: posit.feedback - Spec.value​
IDE07785 Turbine actuator 1 bank 1: posit.feedback - Act.value​
IDE07790 Bypass valve for turboch 1 turbine inlet: activation (bi-turbo only)​
IDE07791-ENG180364 Turboc.1 turbin.bypass valve 1 B. 1: pos.feedback - Raw voltage-Voltage_16_usigned_1000 (bi-turbo only)​

Select "Log" (if so desired or just monitor the values) > Start (logging)​

Select "Go!" (to start the test)​

EDIT: Graphs replaced with better ones - to show engine RPM to allow align events.

At the time of testing the engine in question has done 100.000 km (60.000 miles).

The test runs actuator/sensor G581 into two different positions. Test takes 60 seconds to complete.
In the initial setup only the two data items were active - obviously need to investigate a bit more to make the recording more useful.

IDE00897-Adaptation of the turbocharger​

Nothing seems happen at the turbo while adapting it - as in the graphs below.

However, the ECU reports the procedure has finished correctly - which is not always the case, as e.g. in thread Wastegate actuator adaption CXEB
