Tambour Doors

Does anyone have any experience of living with these?

I want to use them in our new conversion but might need them to operate horizontally rather than vertically.

The particular problem I see is the ones at lower level. Apart from dirt in the track ones tendency would be to open them by holding the top rather than the middle. With sticky runners this might have the effect of causing the tambour to try and parallelogram and jam in the runners.

Calis have two; really good but don't put too much pressure on them and you do need a powerful vacuum to clean out the lower "tracks."

No issues with ours in either Cali.

Dad built his tambour doors in his T4; no idea how!!

Another tambour user without any issues...... Rather like them. Mine are vertical though.

Yeah, vertical is fine. Horizontal seems Ok above worktop but its below I am thinking about.

I have got this on CAD and played with it every which way but to avoid the sink waste, fridge compressor and exhaust from the diesel hob it looks like I will have to go horizontal rather than vertical.
