I have a bit of chaffage on my fronts at the moment I’m going to investigate tomorrow , I hope it’s just the liner. They are really comfy compared to the b14’s but a much softer spring/shock compared to the b14 too, hence the comfort I guess
What rim width and tyre sizes are you running?

Did you slacken off the lower wishbone bolts and let them settle. If you dont do this when lowering the bushes will have a permanent twist in them before you start hitting bumps! They should be tightened with the full weight of the vehicle on them (or jacked up to the suspensions normal resting point.

Ian
Yeh done that, the front p/s mount was ever so slightly out of line , must have moved when I lowered the van. Re positioned it and let the jack down very slowly to locate it properly! All is now good thank you Ian

What's your top of wing to centre? And are you at max height?

350mm ish all round, as far as I know the rears are all the way down fronts are not even half way down I don’t think ? Be interested to see other peoples measurements too??

I’d be doing it as a precaution anyway. It’s really easy.

I just drilled a small hole in the rubber grommet on the side of the trailing arm and fitted the cable clip in to it and cable tied the top end to the arm closer to the bush.

New edition to the team.
Set of Duchy banded 17s at 9" and 10" in my normal Chrome, running 235/50/17 Goodyear Vector 4's all round.

Jamie rarely does 10" rears on the 17" GP's and I can see why, because they are huge. The dish on these bad boys is immense.

These are to be used as daily wheels to save my RRs getting chipped up. They are also a very comfortable tyre moving from 40s to 50s, plus a lot lighter.

General question - what are the approaches to stopping rust emanating from the joint between the centre and outer rim on steels? It isnt possible to get paint / powdercoat right into the joint.

I’ve seen mention of silicon on certain colours. Just wondered what other options there are? Anyone work in some cavity wax or would this be prone to spraying out everywhere?

Ian

This has been asked before and I only get rust water for a couple of weeks when new, and then it stops.

Beautiful! :inlove:

I whacked this picture on the Banded steel FB page to help people out with tyres sizes and what the different wheels look like at the same height, and to stop the stacks of private messages I get asking the same questions over and over again, and it was really interesting to see the differing opinions to favoured steel, with the same set getting more love than the others.
