Do you know what the noise reduction is on this level of sound deadening? Checked with a noise meter? Our full sound deadening package being installed this week - we photograph all installs - what’s behind the panels in as important as the finished van.

The problem is where to stop the carpet lining without it looking a mess as you cant go to the edge of the metal as it then goes outside the rubber seals and water soaks in.Always irks me that a 50k vehicle still has bare metal showing on the sliding doors around the windows - even our transit has this area clad. I see you've done the none sliding side. Am I missing something - is there some specific reason why nobody seems to have a solution for tarting up the window surround area on a sliding door.
I can understand that but was thinking more along the lines of a carpeted internal surround rather than spending a grand on a set of caravelle door cards. But you got me searching a bit more and it seems that van shades do something along the lines of what I'm looking for.The problem is where to stop the carpet lining without it looking a mess as you cant go to the edge of the metal as it then goes outside the rubber seals and water soaks in.
You could flok them if you have the time, I don't think other methods are cost-effective for the time involved. There is a thread in the forum somewhere showing a kit in use.I can understand that but was thinking more along the lines of a carpeted internal surround rather than spending a grand on a set of caravelle door cards. Thanks for your opinion Oli - all valid points. As above, due to the door seals the metal can't be carpeted. In the many years we have been doing these, which have seen other companies attempts on this, and they all look worse than the bare metal. As you have rightly said the only way past this is Caravelle door cards - Personally I think they look out of place in a kombi - But we are all different.
Yes, the other option that I had in my last van was a ply "frame" around the window that was carpeted. It looked much better than just left. I will see if I can find a picture.I can understand that but was thinking more along the lines of a carpeted internal surround rather than spending a grand on a set of caravelle door cards.
