I wonder if we didn’t know that it was linked with Ford it would be liked more before it was even launched.
It’s like a lot of new releases they can grow on you with time.
It’s definitely not grabbed me straight away.
But not terrible

IMG_2075.jpegIMG_2076.jpegIMG_2081.jpegIMG_2079.jpegIMG_2077.jpegIMG_2078.jpegNot sure I should post this, but ultimately this is the new T7. We already run around 6 customs and a tourneou on our rental, but this is the first DCIV and the one we are going to start to develop our processes ready for the new T7.

First impressions of the hybrid are good, drives really well, better than the diesels. MPG is good too - it’s done 300 miles (delivered from chesterfield) and averaged over 42mpg and covered nearly 90 electric miles in that. It’s a clever system.

It’s a LWB DCIV in grey matter with the following factory upgrades,
Passenger captain seat
Twin electric side doors
Dial zone air con
Solid tailgate
Nav pack

In true BMVS style we are going full send on this;

Bodykit
Suspension
Audio upgrade
Leather
Wheels
Sound deadening
Insulation
Carpeting
Suede headliner
Steering wheel upgrade
Exterior paint
And lots more…

Is it right that there's a petrol engine providing the extra mileage?

Does it run off both or does it just charge the battery?

Yes. It’s a 2.5 petrol with a plug in hybrid. It will do 38 miles on electric only if required. It’s very clever because when the hybrid battery runs low it’s runs as a full hybrid - recharging on braking. It will run a mixture of engine and battery - it’s very quick and quiet. Ots 232ps. It’s only had one full charge and here is the current mpg over the first 295 miles !!

My wife drives a Hybrid Range Rover Evoque.
1.5l petrol engine 3 cylinder pushing out 204ps
Battery adds an extra 100ps (304ps total) so it’s pretty rapid!
Anyway once fully charged it gives an approximate range of 40 miles. It starts with the 1st 10 miles or so on full electric but during that time if you accelerate hard the engine cuts in.
Then it charges the battery on braking or if you coast.
Enough to charge the battery if stuck in traffic.
Basically it’s really great on fuel. My wife only works 5 miles from home and on average only uses £20 of fuel per month. Charges the car at work on a standard 3 pin plug.
Hope the new VW hybrid is the same ish as defo thinking about getting one on lease through my business and retire my Sportline as a day van.

Yes the hybrid works the same way - there is actually a menu so you can select different modes for it too. Doing some miles in it over the weekend so will see how it goes.
