Thought I saw the ID Buzz coming out the back of your garage a few months back - only got a glance so wondered if my eyes were deceiving me and it was a UFO in for a service

Looks like the same designer done the new Fiat Scudo. Please make the VW look a lot better!!!! 1000011432.jpg

We’ve gone full send already…..

Bumpers off for paint, with door handles and mirrors. We are hoping with our thoughts with the paint it will sort the front out. We have THQ side skirts and rear lower trim ready to go on and a front lip due any day.

We have 20” wheels and tyres and @Solow Suspension springs ready to go on - the rear axle is 1900kg so very limited on tyres, in fact only one 245/40/20 is correctly rated! We previously used this on our Transit Custom we modified and it works perfectly .

Tomorrow we start the kombi seat installation, after much head scratching over the last two days. We have side windows from camperglass ready for the job. And we’ve already sorted the leather order with a sports drivers seat (this is a 6 seater). Steering wheel upgrades are already planned too.

We are aiming to add rear speakers-if we can sort the coding out, as at present none of our software systems communicate with it! And also full carpet and insulation, suede headliner with LEDs and a custom floor.

Watch this space - The new VW Transitporter isn’t getting much love, if any at all, but we are working on it.

I will say the drive is really good and very refined, with less road noise than the T6.1, and the tech on it is a big step up. The software runs very smoothly and quickly on the infotainment which is a good sign of progress.

It will be interesting to see what it looks like with 20" wheels as those massive wheel arches on paper give the impression that any size wheel will just look piddly and the look will be dominated by the bodywork.

I imagine the new van is better to drive, regardless of how much people love their T6's etc nobody can deny that the design is 20 odd years old!!

I also imagine that Ford have done some serious mods to the wet belt engine, they obviously wont say because that will mean admitting that there is a fault with their previous engine but can people really see VW and Ford pinning their worldwide commercial vehicle sales which are huge on something with a well known, documented and extremely costly warranty wise engine?

Can you see from the one you have whether the servicing schedules have changed or oil grades?

Can you also see now that you are stripping one down whether it is built like a VW, clips, wiring, the way parts fit together etc or is it more Ford based seeing as they are the major builder?

I saw a good looking Transit all kitted up in Dundee earlier. I could imagine now how the Transporter could look in a few months time. The wheel gap definitely let it down. Let's see how the lowered and big wheel set up from BMV will look, the front end could be a problem!!!!

Our wheel wall is nearly re-stocked. Let us know what you are after we are dealers for all wheels.
