Team Candy White

Hi All,

Joined this forum back in July-17 when I was pretty confident I was purchasing a T6 for conversion to Camper. I've asked lots of questions and got lots of help and advice - big thanks. Al the knowledge gained means I can now even answer some questions raised by other members! So I thought photos were long overdue and a few thoughts etc so here goes...

My advice:
- This forum really does have answers to a large number of common questions - take your time, search carefully and read through it all, you'll gain invaluable knowledge.
- Take your time picking a van - you will eventually get the one you want. It's very easy to get carried away and even give in on requirements just to get your van sooner. But be patient, there's lots of vans out there.
- I primarily sourced VW & Autotrader - make sure you do a National search - showed dealers incredibly similar deals but at a lower price elsewhere - got to a point where they said we can't go any lower unless you can show us a lower price - I couldn't so was happy I was at a good price!
- Camper conversion - again do your research. Lots of companies out there many very new to the game. I chose AJC in Glossop - every review was great - on meeting Andy and the team it became clear why. Really helpful info, not in the least bit pushy, responded to numerous queries really quickly, quality of conversion is second to none. Highly recommended.

In theory my biggest regret was not getting a 6 speed 150 van - I got a 5 speed 102 PS. But my budget simply wouldn't stretch that far - had I not purchased when I did I know I wouldn't have gone ahead a few months later.

What have I done to my van:
- Converted to Camper!
- Lowered - H&R 40mm
- Alloys upgraded from 16" to 18". I think 19" or 20" would have looked better but advice I got was go with 18" as all round best...
- Pioneer Unit fitted, thus Satnav via Android Auto or Apple Car play, plus has reversing Camera.
- Tracker fitted - Insurance company wouldn't insure it otherwise (I blame Manchester postcode for that!!)
- Additional Door Seal - sometimes the least expensive upgrade can bring most pleasure!

Possibly still to do?
Remap, from 102 to Pendle remap. Still a tad nervous on this (can 5 speed gearbox handle additional power comfortable - this van is for life (well...) so . Also being a Chicken and waiting until out of warranty.
Front splitter?
Subtle Decal?
LED's, LOL - simply silly price.
Of course this list will only expand in due course...

OK, here are some pictures. Slightly concerned it doesn't look 'sporty' enough but everyone who has seen it has been wowed - especially the conversion, so that's good for me.

Van looks great, don’t be scared of the remap, I have a Pendle remap and mine is a 102 5 speed and it’s now running a proven 174bhp. If had no problem what so ever, surly these gear boxes can handle the increase. The clutch will go before a gearbox every time and my clutch is fine.

I’d like to join team white please!
Last pic was me keeping a close eye on the mrs driving lol lol (only joking ladies)

hahaha ..... it probably won't help but I'm the same and there's a total ban on any driving that may involve kerbs coming within 10ft of any wheels :laugh:

Hi

Just showing off my baby - it's taken a while to get to this stage
Interior and windows by Absolut, who also did the remap & signature audio (wow!)
Mood lighting all round
Titan Bed, 3 seat - these guys are great, quality is fantastic
Low level cabinet in carbon fibre effect by detailed camper designs
20" with Bilstein for the drop!
Fiamma bike rack (so much better than oem)
van style rails and bars (quality is good, but it's true when they say their fitting instructions leave a lot to be desired, hmmm!)
maxxon splitter
chrome grill streamer

I'm in love!

All nearly done, just the front seats to get covered to match (also Titan beds)

Thanks T6180. I think I’ll have to raise it a bit at the back once the kitchen unit and RIB are in though. So happy with the way it looks

I'm sorry, did someone mention 'raising' a T6.

Just as my morning of cleaning was going so well :(
