Main things I remember:
Paintwork needs to be spotless first (no wax either), I missed a couple of tar spots and they do show through (if you know where to look). I should have probably used a clay bar first to remove any contamination.
Temperature should be between 10 to 20 deg C to help with fitting and bonding
Have a helper ready
Check position before removing backing paper, check again... and one last time.
Don't rush it
Trim decals about 1mm before the radius of panel edge, don't wrap them around door/panel edge.
But this was my first attempt, so I'm pleased with the outcome overall...
