Thanks for letting me join the group

OK here I go, I've just bought a t6 2ltr transporter euro 6 on a 66plate 115 000 miles,and this is my first van ever." Question"
When at a junction or stationery and the electric fan kicks in I smell fumes from the engine area can anyone one tell why this is I don't think it's normal as I've never had this problem with any other vehicle I've owned, can anyone help pls.

Welcome!

Fumes in cab could be a split EGR pipe. Have a read of this…

Or could be a DPF regeneration - the fans run while it heats up the Diesel Particulate Filter to several hundred degrees C which usually creates a smell. Usually does this when you stop and switch off. It also does regens while you’re going along but these are not normally noticed.

Lol I've spent up but yes I've sent a load so far

As above. If. The engine revs at standstill are about 1000rpm rather than 800 then it is probably just a regen. Have you had a listen under the bonnet to see if you can hear an exhaust gas leak?

Can't hear any noises other than the engine ticking.

I did hear the engine rev up a little and fan also kicked in, but would you get a burning deisal or oil smell on a regen? The cooling fan makes it worse also I did see smoke come from the engine area at one point its like some sort of drip occurres then it go's! The engine is bone dry in all areas I can see underneath and above.

Yes, when the Euro 6 engines are doing a regen you do get a definite smell.
