Thinking about buying.

I'd personally steer clear on anything with a map.

There's never a shortage of 6s or 6.1s for sale so don't be thinking you need to rush into anything. For that kind of money I'd be sticking with proper business sellers with a forecourt so you've some recourse if it develops problems.

Yeah thats great advice. There are a few more that I've seen on autotrader yesterday for around the same price as well.

This might be slightly beyond your budget but a high quialty build from an extremely reputable converter, sensible miles, and you get a proper warranty and comeback in the event of issues.

I know you wanted one converted, but if you do want a base van I’ve heard some good reviews of Salop Vans, they have plenty under your budget too.

Thanks for your incredibly nice replies!

Sometimes I’ve seen people warned off in these threads so I’m happy with these lol. Renting one is definitely something we’re going to do. The boss has camped all her life, and even though it was my ideal, I’m the one without experience.

It’s a great point about the conversion quality. Something I’m a little weary of myself as there is a company not too far from me in Llanelli that has some terrible reviews. Will definitely be posting ones we like on here!

One thing I’m a little nervous of with the conversions is the gas cookers. The explosive aspect of that has me nervous, should it?

Thanks again guys you’ve all been very helpful and kind.
I purchased a van and have done bits myself except fitting the rock and roll bed and fitting the pop top. I didn't want to spend a fortune buying an already converted one, also I didn't know what layout I wanted. So I just made a makeshift bed the full width of the van and camped with it like that for the summer, gave me time to see what I actually needed and wanted before converting it. For me a full width bed was a must and a fridge, had the pop top with a solar panel fitted 2 weeks ago. Most conversions have the units down the one side which is defo handy for storage but for me a wider bed was priority. I'd recommend before taking the plunge hire a couple of vans with different size beds, nothing worse than going away for a period of time and struggling to sleep

Hi guys, thoughts on this as a base van? Servicing has all been done by the owner and there are no records which scares me.

1st off Facebook market place scares me
2nd service history or lack of also worries me and if I’m honest even tho it’s a startline with no aircon etc it still seems to cheap to me on that milage services or not
