Tow bar removal

The picture I posted shows westfalia part number actually.

Sorry, yes you are right. I assumed Westfalia had a consistent part numbering convention !

Anyway, I have nipped down to the van, and this is what we have.

I’m going to 3D print the design I have found anyway, just to see if it fits.

Great thanks.

I would be interested in one if it does. Also dont suppose you have the number on the swan neck itself? I have 2. One that was in the T6 when I bought it and one from on a previous Audi car. Both fit into the T6 socket.:

This was in T6 originally

This was from previous car (AUDI)

Out of interest anyone know what the numbers mean? Are the interchangeable/ both safe to use?

They are likely the same. We had a t5.1 with factory fit westfalia at work and I fitted a privately bought westfalia to another one.

Necks both identical but different part numbers had the same first 3 and rest were different. Suspect its a vw number v westfalia number difference

towbar come off no issue, but now i cant get it fully reinstalled? the neck inserts and appears to lock into the receptacle, however the turn wheel wont fully lock into place allowing the key to be taken out.. Any ideas?

you are turning the key to lock it? do you get the clunk as you insert the neck? you can't really get it wrong

i take it the key should be in the unlocked position when inserting? i put into the receptacle and it holds as if locked, however it just wont allow me to twist the nob to lock in, as i can still see some of the silver pin, and the green tab still showing,, i can turn and lock when out but won't when in.
I'll post photo tomorrow

I’ve tried for the last 30 mins to get this fitted but still no joy, it locks into place but the wheel just won’t turn back to allow lock key to be removed. I video it but don’t know how to upload

If its correctly fitted you shouldn't need to touch the wheel. It should spring back itself, you then turn they key to lock and pull it out.

I’ll try cleaning the receptacle tomorrow although the cover was fitted as I took it off, not sure why it’ll not return now though

I remember on a previous car being stumped by one of these. Went to a fitter in the end to ask. Took him less than 5s to do. I’ve forgotten what I was doing wrong though.

@rover220 thanks for that, mine does go in and appear to house but the wheel just does not turn itself, I’ll try again though
