Is there a way of changing the PSI that is stored in the system as i now have smaller wheels and different tyre pressures. The pressures stored are 62 but the wheels im running are only 42 PSI
Hi lonnard welcome. It might be helpful to you if you stated what your vehicle is when asking specific questions. eg mine is a 2019 T6 Caravelle 4Motion Executive that might give some people a better chance of answering your questions relative to your questions. Some just state the vehicle and others embed it some where in the information so that it always appears. It might well be that not all the vehicles represented here operate in exactly the same way. I think that some vehicles can set a new pressure by operating a button while mine with a multi function steering wheel allows me when the ignition is on, to set the pressures by looking at the menu on the instrument panel by pressing the relevant OK button and by toggling through the menu find tyre pressures on a sub menu and set the new pressures. Their is a little procedure.
Most simple information is carried in a relevant hand book, though I can understand when buying a used vehicle, these can go missing. I am not sure the best procedure for obtaining a new one might be. Perhaps on line it might be available or possibly through a VW dealership. The vehicle vin or reg might be helpful. I think their might be a facility through the forum and that would probably mean joining up with a small annual fee for VIP membership £12.99. That would also open up a whole new world of useful information. Also some new members find it useful to introduce them selves or at least their vehicles on Welcome new members thread were often some some chat brings forth some simple answers. It gives regulars and administrates a chance to meet new owners. Good luck with your vehicle
If you have the direct TPMS it needs to be coded by someone with odis or similar. Don't think VCDS can do it.
I've had it done. You can have various pressures stored.
Have a search, there is a topic or two discussing it.
On my 22/6.1 it comes up with an error on the screen if the tyre pressures change. You just press 'ok' if you are happy with the change.
'Are you sure?'.
'Yes' I tell it.
Then we both look at each other weirdly for the next couple of trips to make sure each of us is really sure about it.
