The VW H7 DRL lights are just a bulb swap though, aren’t they?

I think I’ll go for the VW H7’s unless the light output of these TransporterHQ H7’s turns out to be substantially better.

Come on guys someone must have fitted them by now and been out for a drive and done a video of them. We’re all waiting on real life reviews and opinions to order them

If the LED strip fails then i'd guess you'd have no DRL on that light. Same would be true of the genuine LED headlight i'd say. The difference is you could probably buy another pair of TransporterHQ lights for less than the price of one genuine LED headlight!

After watching that fitting vid, I dont think i could fit a set of these until i have covered / tidied the wiring up!

I definitely have to get the: heat shrink, convoluted tube and Tesa tape in there with some black cable ties, my OCD would not allow me to drive knowing that it looked like that under the bonnet.

Thankfully I went factory LED conversion

Not long now. Mine were shipped on Friday so should get them early next week. I plan to do then as soon as they arrive. Can’t handle H4s anymore. I really think they’re dangerous. Driving at night is an event with these lights.

We need a front view of all the light stages, drl, side, main and full.

The output on the pics they have is similar to the h7’s which isn’t a surprise as it is a h7 bulb. The only difference is the drl.

Saw these at Campermart but wasn’t impressed, imho the internal plastics and finish of them looked cheap compared to the oem lights.

Don't like those much either.. and I believe all of this particular unit throw up errors.

Just done our first night trip round country lanes which is what made me think. We both thought these lights arnt bad and are better than the car. Definitely better than I expected so checked with info from @Loz. I have H7 lights fitted. So that’s going to save me £500 or not really as she’s in tomorrow for a complete ICE upgrade :whistle:

I fitted the Transporter HQ lights onto my van this afternoon, using the Youtube video, no problems and I'm not technically gifted when it comes to tinkering with vehicles.. Of note I did it without any assistance on my front drive, so it's not a hard job although it did take me more than 30 minutes. I finished just as it got dark so took a short drive and parked up opposite a shop window to cycle through my lights. I was a bit perturbed by the single fog light that was on but on coming home I googled it to find Loz and Pauly on this very forum explaining it to someone else who didn't know about the cornering function, thanks guys.
No photos I'm afraid, trust me I can see much better and it looks much better. Great service from TransporterHQ as well.

@KR. thanks for the info and I do like these lights, does the dipped beam stay on when full beam is out on?

I think I read somewhere on this thread or another that for these lights to be fully MOT compliant the dipped beam needed to stay on when the full beam is on.

I’ve turned my cornering lights off via Carista as didn’t find them at all useful. I kept getting told that a bulb had blown.....

I was told that it does it without vcds required! Although I haven’t seen one in the flesh to prove this.

@KR. Will be the best person to see
Depends on how they have wired it I expect but if going from factory H4 to a twin setup using the factory plugs the BCU will need a tweak with vcds or carista(if it does) to keep the low beam feed active when you switch to high beam.

That was my thoughts!

Is it because the h4 used the same bulb for full and main, and the back changed the wattage to the bulb, and therefore you have to recode it to apply both inputs....
