Triple, singles, middle seat

I have a triple bench rear which ideally want changing for 3 x singles but cost for seats only appears eye watering at present. With 3 x singles plan would be that middle seat would usually e left out of van to leave 2 x singles with middle space used for some bespoke reason - fridge/ power bank position, maybe a bespoke table using floor bracket etc as only rarely would need the 3 seats.

3 x singles looks circa £2k searching presently, not including floor brackets. Plus fitting i imagine this could push towards £3k, maybe some back on selling the triple. Whilst I really want this change I can’t really justify or afford such an outlay. Anyway, I was thinking/ wondering if there is some sort of aftermarket table/ armrest that could be fixed to middle seat, to include drink holders similar to the the drop down ones see in some cars? Tried searching but not found anything. Also doesn’t help with the complete pain of trying to remove a triple either but would be useful for longer journeys and child separation in the back!

Thanks

Good question! I'm assuming you have a Kombi rather than a Shuttle? Have you decided what to do yet?
Another option might be to get the 60/40 middle row of seats that was standard in a T5 Shuttle, so that at least they're easier to handle. You'd still have to get the floor fixings rejigged but the seats themselves would probably be cheaper.

Here's a car organiser/table that you could sit to the middle seat to entertain/separate kids: https://www.amazon.co.uk/High-Road-Organizer-Pockets-Compartment/dp/B09WXTFFYK/

Here's something cheaper but doesn't look as good: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Organiser-Organiser-Organisers-Adjustable-Dividers/dp/B08SQ9D71H

Good luck! I had 6 kids in my Shuttle for years, now rarely need to carry them all so usually leave the middle row out so they have tons of legroom.

Hi, I’ve just left with the triple at the minute but 3 singles remains my preference. Whether this ever happens is doubtful given cost is difficult to justify. How do those products fix down? Presumably by the seat belt but can’t see any info on it?
