Twin-Adjust-Projekt-Sensitiv (Eibach + Koni) comfort coilovers?

Are these similar to the already availble koni active dampers but adjustable?
No these are not special active . it simply wouldn't work at the low ride heights this kit is designed to run. they will of course look similar as the casing is the same

if you set the height the same as yours the ride will be good but you cant get the benefit of the auto adjust because they dont have the feature , , if you go to the low settings then it wont be as good because the travel is too little . In ,my opinion though it will be better than B14 because of the dual tube technology

Hi Hickey, Sorry for the delay in replying as we have been off line for a couple days eating mince pies!

The Comfort Coilovers have been made especially for Twin Monotube Projekt Germany. So although they may look similar, they are indeed not the same. Open and close lengths are very similar to the Bilstein B14's so these are 100% designed for a lowered ride.

Additionally as I'm sure you have already spotted they have ride height adjustment front and rear as per your standard coilovers of 40-70mm and adjustable dampening. Paired with the exceptional Eibach Comfort springs these are a very nice kit designed to offer the best ride possible.

2 year warranty on the dampers and 5 year warranty on the springs.

Happy new year all.

Regards,

Brett

Damping adjustment is straightforward enough. This needs to be done pre install though.

Ride height adjustment is also very simple. Two lock ring adjusters. Setting the height adjusters is best pre install, although the fronts can be adjusted in situ once fitted if required. Rear adjusters are the same as B14's and the Eibach adjustable springs. The adjuster cup sits at the top of the spring, so will need to be removed if adjustment is required which is easy to do.

Instructions are available on this although we recommend getting these coilovers fitted by a suspension expert. We are currently working on our recognised suppliers who can fit these new comfort coilovers for you. Or if you fancy a trip to Cornwall then we of course can also fit them for you. Currently running free fitting promo. Or just PM me and I'll let you know who your nearest dealer is.

Cheers.

Are they KONI dampers I see. I used to have SPAX on my Minis as they were a lot easier to adjust. Out of interest what makes them different to the B14 setup other that the damper. I've sold mine but I idd feel it needed somthing to stop the dam roll they suffer from

Hi Roadrunner.

Yes indeed they are dual tube Koni dampers made especially for this comfort coilover kit. The other main benefit over the B14's is the springs used. Eibach make some of the finest suspension springs in the world. The Eibach springs don't suffer from spring sag over time like other manufactures and also are much more durable. These Comfort springs will harmonise perfectly with the koni dampers and offer a reduction in the body roll and pitch under braking whilst maintaining unrivalled comfort.

Liking the Team Grape Yellow by the way. This is our Demo swamper campervan:

Are they adjusted by yourselves or by the customer

Andy

Hi Andy,

As previously mentioned we'd recommend installation by a suspension specialist and ideally one of our approved dealers. This ensures the suspension is set up as it should be. However, in short the dampers can be adjusted by the customer or fitter themselves prior to the install. ie before they are bolted on.

The base setting is pre set at the most comfortable setting out of the box.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Brett

Hi all,

Thought we'd share some feedback from one of our happy customers on the very first comfort coilers (Twin-Adjust-Projekt-Sensitiv) fitted in the UK.

This is what Mark had to say: (unedited)

First of all the quality of the kit is very good. The guys who fitted them said of all the types of coil overs they fit these looked and felt good quality and were easy to fit.

The ride quality of the van now is amazing. The van sits level now at a not to low. The cornering is now flatter with little body roll but the comfort over standard suspension is much nicer. The ride is firmer but not at the expense of the comfort.

All in all a much better quality ride that looks much better but is also comfortable.

Before and after photos below, looks like a totally different van and drives like one too.
Get kit and I can totally recommend it to anyone. I’ve had a few transporters over the years and this kit is by far the most practical one so far for lowering and comfort.

A couple pics enclosed of his beautiful van.

Hello

so if I understand correctly, these can be lowered 70mm and at the same time improve the comfort and handling?

when lowered to the max would these give a noticeably better ride than B14 adjusted to the same level?

currently getting sport line springs fitted with my camper conversion as a stop gap solution as I can’t bear to have the standard suspension but after reading how harsh this setup will be (and the limited lowering they give) I’m keen to get an alternative lined up ASAP!

these look like they may soon be on my (long) shopping list! :)

Hi,

Yes the guide lowering on these are - 40mm - 70mm in lowering, however, the supplier has reported that they have managed between 35-75mm. Of course this all depends on the van that it is being fitted to. Gross weight/weight distribution and condition of the remaining suspension components.

In truth the lower you go the less comfort you get, however, as a direct comparison to the B14 @ - 70mm these will be more comfortable thanks to the dual tube Koni dampers.

I personally like 45/50mm lowering as you get the best of both worlds in looks and comfort and still a usable ride hight for the van, but that's just me.

The Eibach Sportline springs you mentioned are 30mm lowering springs, and pretty firm. So, indeed if you want to go lower than that, these may well be a great alternative whilst achieving excellent handling and ride comfort.

Here is a little promo video on the new Twin Adjust Projekt Sensitiv (TAPS) comfort coilovers and the new MAX LOW version. (50-90mm) using Koni dampers and Eibach springs.

I have a T6.1 T30 Highline DSG LWB coming at the end of the month and have a couple of questions.

1, it's a work van and will have a constant half load with full load every now and then, im planning on running it at a fairly sensible 40/50mm drop so will the setup deal with this?
2, do you have any approved dealers for fitting around Manchester? i don't mind travelling a couple of hours.

So, given this special projekt is supposed to offer "better" comfort but still lowers from 40-70mm, and given the statement that lower will always be worse, what is it better than?

I am just over an Hour from Manchester and can supply and fit these kits

Yes these kits will offer a lot more comfort at 40 to 70 mm compared to similar Sleeve over kits . The shocks are the important things and I have worked with KONI shocks for 20 years so have a lot of experience on the set ups

You can fit KONI shocks with the Eibach sport springs if you want to optimise the vans performance £595.00 a set ( they will be pre adjusted to suit your van and requirements )

Hi,

Possibly depends on what sort of weights are in your full load? Is it over the rear load limit rating of 1,060kg?

These coilovers work perfectly well on a factory California without any issues and especially at the sort of ride heights you've suggested so I don't foresee any potential issues at all.

We do have a couple of dealer options. CRS performance who are on here and also Mersey Speed.
I can send you their contact details directly.

Kind regards
Brett.

Loads would be within the load rating for the van, usually its half loaded with tools fittings racking etc.. but every now and again I need to transport a sectional GRP water tank which would put it somewhere near the load limit.

I would appreciate any contact details so I can get some fitted prices.
