Tyre pressure monitoring unavailable showing dash errors - ABS Light, Traction Control Light and Tyre pressure warnings.

VW have now sorted my ABS etc lights on and Tyre Monitoring not working message, t was the rear NS, cost of fix £290.
FI, they have a standard charge of £99 just for connecting the the meter to tell them which sensor is faulty which I think way higher than it should be when the mechanic all but knew what the problem was as it appears this is a widely known fault.
To date all works required on my T6 have been carried out by VW with my thinking being they are more likely to do whatever's needed right as the electronics on these vehicles are out of scope for most non VW garages.
Do others here stick with VW or choose to go elsewhere where the costs are likely to be less and if so has anyone encountered problems as a result?

Invest in a decent fault code reader. You'll soon recoup the investment if VW are charging £99.

Have a look in VCDS-VagCom / Carista / OBDeleven for some inspiration. Carista and OBDeleven are the less costly options.
