Tyre "Stepping"

Morning all, I need advice please..
I have a 2018 SWB T6 camper conversion with tyre issues
It came with Stuttgart 20" rims and 275/40R20 106WXL tyres. The tyres are not best quality to be honest but I have been advised that they are "stepping" i.e. the leading edge of the block is raised and the trailing edge is low. Its causing so much road noise...
I have been told this wear pattern is due to this size of wheel?tyre being unsuitable for the weight of the vehicle and is quite common but I'm not sure about that
Does anyone else have experience with this issue and can anybody advise on best tyre choice as replacements ?

This is often down to suspension alignment. Incorrect toe angles cause this sort of wear.

You need a proper 'Hunter' alignment by someone who knows how to use the equipment. This is best done on 4 new tyres, as adjusting the settings to suit out of shape tyres will still be wrong.

I'm unfamiliar with "Hunter alignment, is that a specialist job ?

Its a specialist machine so only certain place have them, some tyre garages or suspension places might have them
Its a bit like tracking but it does all 4 wheels and checks all the measurements camber/toe/thrust angle etc

You don't need "hunter" that's just a brand.

There will be heaps of garages near you who can 4 wheel alignment.

It's also called feathering, I've seen it happen due to poor shocks.

Oh ok, hopefully not the shocks as she's only done 19,000 and I've had her since 5,000

I think feathering or blocking is usually on the inside of the rear tyres.
There isn’t many options to adjust the rear geometry.

I have had that too, but evens out with regular rotation.
