tyres

I have a t6.1 4 motion swb with Goodreich AT tyres, great for muddy conditions but very noisy on road, want to put some 19" rims/tyres, any suggestions as to the quietest tyres I can get for summer use
Thanks

Lots of tyre retailers on line, such as https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/
Have a browse, look at your tyre size and load rating and see which tyres have low noise levels.
To be fair after All Terrain tyres, any quality summer tyre is going to be quieter.

This is much misunderstood. The noise ratings are "drive by" figures recorded with an external microphone at the roadside (or the laboratory equivalent) and bear little relation to tyre noise transmitted though the vehicle and experienced by the occupants.

I've never really taken too much notice of them, but there doesn't appear to be a better indicator of "in the vehicle tyre noise".
I just buy quality tyres and accept that an AT tyre is inherently noisier than a standard summer tyre.

There's no real indicator of in vehicle tyre noise beyond personal experience, or the word of a trusted user of the tyre with the same vehicle as you.

I use BFG All Terrain Tyres. Excellent tyres for what they are meant for. When new they are quite quiet but get noisier as the mileage goes up. The other thing to look at is tyre pressures are they correct. Often Off Road tyres are built much tougher than normal road tyres they may have additional bracing and plies they are often XL and have much higher carrying specification. This for many reasons carrying of course but off road tyres live tough lives, abrasion and heavy nocks and so on. I imagine few would adopt the original vehicle manufacturers suggested PSI We need to use a tyre comparison site pump in all the original details on the sticker for VW tyres for ones own vehicle then alongside in an appropriate place pump in ones own new tyre details and as fast as rushing air a new pressure will be suggested. In reality the vast majority of people on this or any other forum would be far better of with Good quality All Season Tyres such as Michelin Cross-climate or something similar from another leading manufacturer.

Anybody running on Falken Euroall Season Van11? They seem to be getting reasonable reviews on larger motorhome sites. I'm thinking of putting these on my 6.1 4mo

I have Falken Linam van 01 s on my summer wheels and would say even quieter than the original conti van contacts. Also a bit cheaper than the Contis and for me ,the most important factor wet grip , they are A rated and can confirm perform really well in the rain following a red deer avoidance manoeuvre early one morning up the A9 .

Fully agree with @Kind of Blue re only needing an all season tyre. I'm currently trucking across the gravelly, rocky and surprisingly muddy trails of Northern Spain (full story when I get back). Absolutely no need for a gnarly BFG here, just a quality Hankook AT3 M&S rated van tyre. Quiet and economical on the motorway and plenty grippy and tough enough off tarmac. No reason to suspect the Falkens will be any different.

I do accept that the BFGs do look the part though!

I agree.
To be honest, few of us need the off road capability of AT tyres (there are exceptions) and all season tyres have got me muddy places I really thought impossible, and out of the other side!
To be fair, I have tractors so I can push my luck knowing that however stuck I get, I can easily tow it out, I can take more risks knowing it's not a problem.
All season tyres are nearly as good as AT tyres in the mud.
Of course, if you're off road a lot, you might still need AT tyres, as I know at least one T6 forum member does!
