Hi all. Currently on a camping trip in top of Scotland - had a low brake fluid warning when I started up and pedal didn't feel right. Nice campsite man topped me up to full but brakes not feeling right. Have stopped at bettyhill viewpoint as brakes just not right and no fluid left. Have found major leak where rigid pipe joins flexi on ns rear swingarm.
Going to have to be recovered - anyone know of a suitable repair shop in the area? Guessing will have to be Ullapool or Thurso
Thanks

Their are garage services at Ullapool & Thurso. Probably best to ask AA or RAC who ever you are with. You may need to find some where temp to sleep over or just perch near a work shop and camp or if confident very close by. Very sorry indeed to hear about your problem!

Their is a small garage at Bettyhill.

I would think Thurso would be nearer /quicker to get to but will depend on the recovery options. If it is the rigid pipe that has failed garage should be able to make up a replacement fairly quickly.

To close this out- seven hour wait for recovery truck - v nice man - Neil from Tongue Garage - took us back to his works - straight onto ramps.
Checked leak - found the plastic shroud from around the koni springs had become detached and was lightly touching the rigid pipe from the flexi to the caliper - somehow this had caused the connector nut to loosen!
Tightened the nut, re bled the rear brake and back on the road.
Can't understand the mechanics of this. I had the rear swing arms off three years ago - done 30k miles since then!
Any thoughts?

That is excellent new, i am very happy for you. Very quickly sorted very kind Neil from Tongue Garage. Strange things happen after 30,000 miles I guess. i hope that you can continue and enjoy the rest of your trip. Let us know how you get on. I love it up there but do not like Doune Ray very much all those little grains of plutonium.

Great news :)
