Usb socket

Good evening, a question: is the USB socket in the glove compartment of my Ocean's dashboard always powered? ...I use it to connect the phone with the cable and make Car Play work, I would like to buy, as someone has already done, a transmitter to avoid having to use the cable but I have the doubt that leaving the transmitter permanently in the USB socket will drain the battery. Maybe the socket deactivates after some time when the vehicle is turned off? ... another doubt, if the transmitter connects to the phone via Bluetooth and is also in Carista function to use DPF Monitor, won't a mess happen?

Unless I've misunderstood the questions, why not just plug the phone into the socket and depending on whether or not the charge indicator stays on or goes off when the ignition is off, you've got the answer to the first question at least. Unless you're using quite an old phone, I suspect the second 'doubt' will not prove a problem.

...I was hoping someone would know......, I have another Ford Custom van, the USB sockets deactivate after a few hours from turning off the engine and locking the vehicle, it's a good idea to avoid draining the batteries....I don't know if VW has thought of this..

Even if somebody says it is (or isn't), you might still be wise to check it for yourself as they seem to vary. If you've got an old phone, just leave it plugged in overnight and check it in the morning. If it starts off fully charged and in airplane mode, it shouldn't suck too much juice out of the battery overnight (and that simply wouldn't matter if it's on EHU).
